Istanbul is the largest city of Turkey and the third largest city in the world. The city covers 27 districts of the Istanbul province. It is located on the Bosphorus Strait and encompasses the natural harbor known as the Golden Horn, in the northwest of the country. It extends both on the European and on the Asian side of the Bosphorus, and is thereby the only metropolis in the world which is situated on two continents. In its long history, Istanbul served as the capital city of the Roman Empire, the East Roman Empire, the Latin Empire, and the Ottoman Empire. The city was chosen as joint European Capital of Culture for 2010. The historic areas of Istanbul were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985.

Every weekend you can enjoy live music from an group of musicians playing fasil traditional songs from Istanbul. Every Sunday is Tango Night, when local people come to celebrate, dance, and recapture the spirit of the 1930s, a time when the tango was much loved by Istanbul citizens.
There is also the Radio Bar, with its permanent display of 50s and 60s radios, evoking the atmosphere of a bygone era.

The 110 rooms are decorated in the Ottoman style with traditional Edirnekari woodwork painting and are a graceful blend of past and present, offering all modern amenities: central heating and cooling, direct dial telephone, minibar, cable television, hairdryers and safety deposit boxes. Even though some of the rooms have very basic decor, they are clean and in good condition. The bathrooms are small but again, they cover all requirements.
